— That line inspired the Jeff Buckley drawing I did this summer.
I consider Jeff Buckley to be my personal Drawing Muse, if there is such a thing. It was his portrait (by another artist) that almost a year ago had me dreaming and wishing that I could draw. There was nothing left to do but go ahead and try it and I am truly glad that I did.
This drawing of Jeff is among my favourite ones.
Pencil used: Primo Euro Blend Charcoal 59-HB
Drawing Size: 8″ x 10″
Total Size (including the frame): 12.5″ x 15.5″
The original is now available in the Shop section.
Here you can view my realistic charcoal and graphite pencil portraits, as well as many other things that I sometimes find myself interested in.
I first picked up a pencil in January 2012 and I haven’t put it down ever since. I draw from pictures, prefer visually compelling images with high light-to-shadow contrast and I am absolutely in love with the beauty, complexity and uniqueness of every human face.
Since I am new to drawing, my technique, if it can even be called as such, can only be described as ‘doing what feels right’. I draw mostly for pleasure but I also undertake commissions.
If you find yourself wanting to commission a custom work, please visit the About and Pricing pages for more information. A unique, hand-drawn portrait of a loved one will make an unexpected and highly treasured gift for any occasion!
2015 Update: Custom Orders Are Currently Not Available
