On the left: my old ‘Spock Prime’ bracelet. On the right: the new beaded cuff with buttonholes and sterling silver watch attachments. The two pieces were not meant to be a match size-wise, but they do, almost, complement each other. Neither piece is for sale.

I have just finished a new beaded bracelet. Used a brand new hook clasp instead of my usual multi-strand tube, and I have to admit that the clasp is gorgeous, a little bit of extra design goes a long way! I have also used one of the smallest needles I could manage with, a 0.004, – yes, my eyes! The needle makes a huge difference, the beads sit together much tighter, producing a heavier, more solid feel to the whole cuff.

A lot of people ask me if these handmade bracelets are durable and the answer is: YES! They are, in fact, so durable that you wouldn’t be able to tear one up with just your hands. You simply aren’t strong enough. Every bead is double- or triple-secured with a thread that an average pair of scissors can’t easily cut. If you want to destroy my beaded bracelet, either be armed with a hammer to crush the beads or with a razor to slash off each individual row. And even then it will take you some time…
